Some MadHat Products operate as Chrome or other browser extensions. A browser extension may request permissions needed for its stated functionality.

Depending on the Product, the extension may process information from supported webpages, browser tabs, browser or local storage, page elements or other information required to perform the feature requested by the user.

Information accessed through an extension is used only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, troubleshoot or improve the applicable Product, subject to this Policy and any product-specific notice.

4. Web Applications and Hosted Services

Our web applications may process account information, license and entitlement records, saved projects or settings, product usage information and other information required to provide the features you use.

Information stored in a hosted MadHat Product may be retained on servers or service-provider infrastructure used to operate that Product.

5. Desktop and Downloadable Software

Desktop or downloadable Products may process information locally on your device and may communicate with MadHat systems where required for licensing, activation, updates, security, support or other online features.

• providing and operating MadHat Products;
• verifying purchases, licenses, activations and entitlements;
• processing transactions and maintaining purchase records;

• communicating important product, account, legal or service information;
• maintaining and improving our Products and services; and

7. Purchases and Payment Providers

Purchases may be processed directly by MadHat or through third-party payment processors, marketplaces or sales platforms. Those providers may collect payment or transaction information under their own privacy policies.

MadHat may receive information necessary to identify a purchase, confirm payment status, provide the purchased entitlement and provide support. We do not necessarily receive or store all payment-card information handled by a payment provider.

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Products, practices or legal obligations change. The revised Policy will display an updated effective date.
